First of all, this is not your fault. You should not be put in this difficult position by your boss, and if you like this job, you should not have to find another one because he doesn’t know how to behave professionally. You should certainly document anything he says or does that seems inappropriate. Make sure that you tell someone about this. It could be HR, but it could also be a friend in the office. It’s important that you’re not in a position where you find yourself frequently alone with this man. If you are uncomfortable with him, you should ideally never be alone with him. You have a right to feel safe at work and not to be harrassed by anyone, and your employer has a duty of care towards you. It’s important that you act very soon to keep establishing your boundaries – otherwise he could allege that you seemed Ok with it. Some men seem to think that ignoring bad behaviour is some sort of consent (which it isn’t).
